Rhode Island Bans Felt in Salt and Freshwater

Effective January 1, 2012, Rhode Island has banned the felt sole shoes in all of the state’s waters.  The new rule states: “It is prohibited that any person use foot gear with external felt soles in any state waters, inclusive of freshwater, tidal or marine.”  (Link provided by Clean Angling News) .  Rhode Island joins Maryland, Missouri, Vermont and Alaska in banning felt shoes  and is the second state after Maryland to ban them in saltwater.
